01 Description of Research

My research interests revolve around water quality, management, and availability, and around the water-energy nexus. Specifically, my expertise is in: (i) membrane process engineering and advanced oxidation for water treatment, desalination, and wastewater reuse, (ii) extraction of resources from aqueous waste and high-salinity streams. I am currently coordinating a European-wide project titled MEloDIZER aimed at improving water reuse strategies in the industrial sector and increasing access to safe water through low-cost desalination approaches driven by renewable energy.;
