博士研究は、移民、人種、ジェンダーおよびセクシュアリティの交差点における構造的暴力を分析した。ナラティブ・インクワイアリーを用い、避難を余儀なくされたアフリカ出身のセクシュアルおよびジェンダー・エクスパンシブな共同研究者、法律ケースワーカー、NGOの実務者と協働し、英国の移民制度において反ブラック差別が人種化されたジェンダー暴力をどのように助長しているかを明らかにした。博士研究に加え、暴力、移民、トラウマに関する研究を拡張し、それらの交差性を探究してきた。研究は、移民、人身取引、性暴力、現代奴隷制、トラウマといった相互に関連する課題を引き続き探求している。
東京カレッジでは、トラウマ・インフォームド訴訟とトラウマ研究の実践に関する二部構成の脱植民地プロジェクトを展開する予定である。第一部では、法の植民地性を考察し、日本、アフリカ、英国における亡命、人身取引、ジェンダー暴力の事例に焦点を当て、移民法と法的支援の実態を分析し、トラウマ・インフォームドな法実践の可能性を検討する。第二部では、メタ科学的な視点を採用し、トラウマ研究がどのように行われているのかを批判的に検証するとともに、トラウマ研究が周縁化された研究者に与える影響を考察する。本プロジェクトは、アフリカとアジアの脱植民地的な協働を推進し、移民、弁護士、心理学者、研究者を複数の地域から集結させ、トラウマと正義に関する倫理的・脱植民地的・解放的アプローチを批判的に探求するものである。
