Arrival – Before Coming to Japan
In order to work in Japan, you need to have an appropriate visa and eligibility. Tokyo College office will help you with your visa application and so on. Please refer to the following procedures to get ready to join Tokyo College.
| 1 | Decide your Appointment Date | Your appointment with Tokyo College starts either on the 1st or 16th of the month. |
| 2 | Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) |
We will assist you in applying for a CoE, which is a document required to obtain a “professor” visa. If you are accompanying your family, you need a CoE for obtaining a“Dependents” visa. |
| 3 | Applying for a Visa | Apply for a professor visa for yourself and a family visa for your family at a nearby Japanese Embassy or Consulate General. You may need to make an appointment at the Embassy or the Consulate in advance. |
| 4 | Purchasing a Flight | You must enter Japan at least one day prior to your officially appointed start date at Tokyo College (generally the 1st or 16th of each month). Airfare will be reimbursed from Tokyo College after arrival. |
