Payment of Monthly Salary

Salaries are paid directly to your bank account on the 17th of every month (if the 17th is a holiday, payment will be slightly earlier or later). Those whose contracts begin on the 1st of the month will have their salaries paid on the 17th of that month. Those whose contracts begin on the 16th will have 1.5 months’ worth of salary paid on the 16th of the following month.

Insurance costs (for those who are eligible, this includes health insurance, pension, long-term-care insurance and employment insurance) are automatically deducted from employees’ salaries, along with income taxes and residence taxes.

Commuting Allowance

Generally, the university covers commuting expenses for those who travel to work by public transport (train/bus), bicycle, motorcycle, or car. However, expenses will only be covered if the commuting distance to the university is more than 2 kilometers. This allowance is paid with your monthly salary.

Other Allowances

Employees who are subject to the Basic Annual Salary System (基本年俸俸給表) are not eligible for the following allowances.
