気候変動とエネルギー転換の政治学および美学を研究している。気候変動についてこれほど多くのことが分かっているにもかかわらず、なぜ私たちは依然として化石燃料を燃やし続けるのか？ 化石燃料後の未来をどのように築くことができるのか？ カルチュラルスタディーズは気候正義やエネルギー正義の展望にどのような光を当てることができるのか？
東京カレッジでは「気候変動の反政治」に関する書籍刊行をめざした研究を行う予定である。気候変動の原因・影響・解決策を表現する一般的な方法が、問題の核心にある政治的対立（社会階級、価値観、未来像の対立）をいかに覆い隠しているかを検証する。今世紀にテクノクラートやポピュリストの手法が支配的となる中で、こうした対立は抑圧される傾向にある。気候変動の原因の一つひとつの段階（エネルギーの生成から気候モデルの作成に至るまで）を政治的闘争の場として捉え、その政治性を読み解き直したい。北米とアジアに焦点を当て、極端な気象事象の原因帰属、気候訴訟、災害写真などの政治性を、カルチュラルスタディーズや政治理論の分析手法を用いて考察する。
その他、再生可能エネルギー移行に関わるカルチュラルポリティクス、マルクス主義、環境正義、労働運動、公正な移行、現代文学や映画などについても研究を行う。
